How Many Custom Visors Should You Order?

06/25/2026

Order too few visors and you’re paying a premium for a rushed reorder right before your event; order too many and you’ve tied up budget in inventory. The right number depends on which kind of program you’re running.

Here’s a simple framework for sizing a visor order.

Match the order to the program

Sort your need into one of four buckets: a fixed-attendance event or gift (a tournament field, a team roster), an open giveaway (a festival or booth), pro-shop retail, or a recurring program. Each is sized differently, and conflating them is the most common mistake.

Fixed events: count heads, then pad

For a confirmed field or roster, add about 10–15% for last-minute additions, replacements, and staff. A 120-golfer tournament becomes roughly 135 visors. Our 50-piece minimum makes even a small team or member event practical.

Giveaways and retail: estimate demand

For an open festival or booth giveaway, base the number on expected foot traffic, not headcount — a busy booth can move hundreds a day. For pro-shop retail, order to a season’s realistic sell-through with a reorder trigger, since per-unit price drops with volume.

Recurring programs: order a season at once

If you run a consistent camp, league, or retail program, ordering a full season at once usually beats small batches on price and lead time. A camp handing out 300 visors a session across a summer should order the season’s total at once with a small buffer.

ProgramHow to sizeTypical order
Tournament / rosterConfirmed count + 10–15%50–500
Festival / boothFoot traffic based500–5,000+
Pro-shop retailSeason sell-through + reorder250–2,500
Recurring camp/leagueOrder the season at once500–5,000
Key takeawaySize a fixed event off your confirmed count plus 10–15%, giveaways off expected traffic, and retail or recurring programs by the season for better pricing and lead-time safety.
