A visor is only a good brand impression as long as it looks good. A little care keeps embroidery crisp, keeps performance fabric fresh, and keeps straw in shape — and passing these tips to recipients extends the life (and the branding) of every visor you hand out.
Here’s how to care for each material.
Cotton twill and embroidery
Spot clean when possible, and hand wash in cool water with mild detergent rather than machining. Reshape the brim and air dry — heat from a dryer can warp a structured brim and stress embroidery. Kept this way, stitched logos stay crisp for years.
Performance fabric
Moisture-wicking polyester rinses clean easily and dries fast. Cool machine wash on gentle and air dry; skip fabric softener, which can coat the fibers and reduce wicking. This keeps the sweatband performing for the next race.
Straw
Keep straw dry and stored on its brim or lightly stuffed to hold its shape. Wipe with a barely damp cloth if needed, and avoid crushing it in a bag. Treated gently, a straw visor keeps its resort-quality look season after season.
Terry
Terry cloth machine washes well — cool wash, air dry — and stays absorbent for court use. Because it’s designed to soak up sweat, regular washing keeps it fresh without special care.
